Our story

Born from lived experience, built for every child.

Kids After Hours Foundation was inspired by the founders' own childhood experiences. Growing up in families where opportunities were sometimes limited by financial circumstances, they understand what it feels like to miss out on activities, wear second-hand clothing, and go without experiences many children take for granted.

Those formative experiences became the catalyst for change. Today, Kids After Hours Foundation exists to ensure that no child faces the same barriers. We create safe, inclusive community spaces where every child can access opportunities, receive support, participate in enriching activities, and build the confidence and positive memories that shape their futures.

Our commitment

Ensuring every child has access to opportunities, support, and the chance to build a brighter future.

For children and families

The organisation supports children and families who may not otherwise have access to affordable after-school activities, educational support, and safe social environments.

Invitation to collaborate

The Foundation invites people and companies to collaborate, donate used goods or money, and sponsor community projects.

Founders and core team

People prepared to work hard for children.

The Foundation is led by people whose own journeys have been shaped by resilience, responsibility, and the belief that children deserve encouragement, opportunity, and safe places to grow. Their work is practical, hands-on, and driven by a shared commitment to turn donated goods, community support, and hard work into meaningful chances for young people.

Madara Zinberga, Managing Director

“Every child deserves the chance to see a future bigger than their circumstances.”

Managing Director

Madara Zinberga

Madara was born and raised in a small seaside village in Latvia, where she completed school with strong results and a determination to build a wider future. Her early working life took her from an au pair placement in Germany to hospitality, then to the UK, where she began in a clothing-sorting warehouse.

Through persistence and a willingness to start from the ground up, Madara helped build a logistics company from three unreliable old vans into a growing operation. She brings that same discipline, empathy, and practical leadership to the Foundation: creating opportunities through hard work, careful organisation, and a deep belief that children should not be held back by circumstance.

Kaspars Zinbergs, Chief Executive of the Foundation

“Hard work means more when it opens a door for someone else.”

Chief Executive

Kaspars Zinbergs

Kaspars grew up in a family of six children in a quiet Latvian village. As one of the older sons, he learned responsibility early, leaving college plans behind so he could return home, help his mother, and work. His journey included forestry, wood processing, field work, leaflet delivery, factory work, and warehouse roles before he earned trust as a reliable driver collecting donated clothing.

That lived experience fuels his motivation today. Kaspars understands what it means to work hard for every step forward, and he wants the Foundation to give children the encouragement, safe structure, and opportunity that can change how they see their future.

Inga Zinberga, Treasurer and Quality Controller

“Trust is built by caring for every detail, especially when children are at the heart of it.”

Treasurer & Quality Controller

Inga Zinberga

Inga supports the Foundation with a focus on responsibility, standards, and careful oversight. Her role as Treasurer and Quality Controller reflects the importance of trust: donations, resources, and community support must be handled with care, accuracy, and respect.

She helps make sure the work behind the scenes is organised and dependable, so the Foundation can grow in a way that remains accountable to children, families, donors, and partners.

Janis Zinbergs, Operations Manager

“Real support is practical: showing up, doing the work, and keeping promises.”

Operations Manager

Janis Zinbergs

Janis brings the Foundation’s practical work into motion. As Operations Manager, he represents the hands-on commitment needed to move donations, organise activity, support high standards, and keep daily work progressing with care.

His role is grounded in action: helping turn plans into real support, making sure the operational side of the Foundation is reliable, and contributing to a team culture built around effort, service, and opportunity for children.

Together, the team brings lived experience, operational discipline, and a genuine willingness to work hard for children. Their aim is simple: to build a Foundation that families can trust and that young people can feel proud to be part of.
