Donation Acceptance Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This policy explains how Kids After Hours Foundation Limited accepts monetary donations, goods donations, sponsorship support, and partnership support in a responsible, transparent, and child-focused way.
1. Purpose
The Foundation accepts support that helps create positive opportunities for children, supports safe community activity, and contributes to the Foundation’s charitable aims. We reserve the right to refuse any donation that is unsuitable, unlawful, unsafe, reputationally concerning, inconsistent with our values, or not practical for the Foundation to handle.
2. Types of donations we may accept
Monetary donations
Financial donations may be accepted by agreed payment methods and used to support the Foundation’s programmes, operations, and charitable activities.
Goods donations
Suitable used goods may be accepted where they meet our Goods Donation Acceptance Policy and can be safely collected, sorted, reused, recycled, resold, donated, or otherwise handled.
Sponsorship and partnership support
Corporate or partner support may be accepted where it aligns with the Foundation’s values and passes appropriate due diligence.
In-kind support
Services, expertise, equipment, or practical help may be accepted where agreed in advance and suitable for the Foundation’s needs.
3. Donations we may refuse
We may refuse donations linked to illegal activity, unsafe goods, stolen or counterfeit items, unacceptable conditions, reputational risk, inappropriate influence, conflicts of interest, or activities that could undermine trust in the Foundation. Goods that are unsuitable may be refused, recycled, disposed of, or binned at the Foundation’s discretion.
4. No improper influence
Donations do not give donors control over the Foundation’s decisions, safeguarding approach, spending priorities, or programme delivery. The Foundation will act in the best interests of children, families, beneficiaries, and the organisation.
5. Records and transparency
The Foundation will keep appropriate records of donations, sponsorships, grants, and agreed restrictions. Where a donation is restricted to a particular purpose, the restriction must be recorded clearly and accepted by the Foundation in writing.
