Safeguarding Statement

Last updated: May 2026

Kids After Hours Foundation Limited is committed to creating safe, respectful, and supportive environments for children, young people, families, volunteers, staff, partners, and visitors.

1. Our safeguarding commitment

The welfare of children and young people is central to the Foundation’s purpose. We aim to work in a way that promotes safety, inclusion, dignity, and respect. Safeguarding concerns will be taken seriously and handled promptly and appropriately.

2. Safe activity and supervision

Activities involving children should be planned with appropriate supervision, risk awareness, clear conduct expectations, and suitable boundaries. Adults supporting Foundation activity must act responsibly and avoid behaviour that could place a child, young person, or vulnerable person at risk.

3. Reporting concerns

Anyone who has a safeguarding concern should report it as soon as possible. Where there is immediate danger, emergency services should be contacted. The Foundation may refer concerns to safeguarding authorities, police, local authority services, or other appropriate bodies where necessary.

4. Recruitment and volunteers

Where roles involve contact with children, the Foundation may require appropriate checks, references, induction, role descriptions, training, supervision, and conduct expectations before an individual can participate.

5. Confidentiality and records

Safeguarding information will be handled sensitively and shared only with those who need to know or where required for safety, legal, regulatory, or safeguarding reasons.
