Volunteering
Volunteer Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This policy sets expectations for volunteers who support the Foundation’s activities, goods handling, events, administration, fundraising, or community work.
1. Volunteer values
Volunteers are expected to support the Foundation’s purpose with kindness, reliability, respect, professionalism, and care for children, families, donors, partners, and the wider community.
2. Roles and supervision
Volunteer roles should be explained clearly. Volunteers may receive guidance, supervision, and task instructions appropriate to the role. The Foundation may change or end a volunteer arrangement where needed.
3. Safeguarding and conduct
Volunteers must follow safeguarding expectations, behave appropriately, respect boundaries, and report concerns. Roles involving children may require additional checks, references, training, or supervision.
4. Health and safety
Volunteers should follow reasonable safety instructions, use equipment appropriately, report hazards, and avoid tasks that feel unsafe or outside their capability.
5. Confidentiality and data
Volunteers may come across personal, donor, partner, or operational information. Such information must be kept confidential and used only for authorised Foundation purposes.
